Next to newborn around 6 months old is my favourite age to shoot. They are always so happy and still can't go anywhere! Jadyn was no exception, she was lovin every minute of her portrait session!

Little Princess

This newborn session was the fastest (about 2 1/2 hours) and least messy session I think I have ever had. Sometimes we just have good timing. This little princess slept pretty much the entire time she was at my studio! Congrats Christie and Ricky you have a beautiful baby girl!

Family Time

Here is a sneek peak for Laura and her gorgeous children, Tyson, Morgan and Mikayla!! Laura put a lot of thought into her session and had the children bring items that meant something to them. Mikayla loves to read so we photographed her with stacks of books. Morgan loves her dog and plays the violin. Tyson is a goalie, so we did a cool shot of him with his goalie pads. I can't wait for them to see the rest of their images!

Weekend Inspiration!

This past weekend I was able to slip away from the studio and attend the Professional Photographer's of Alberta annual convention. The speaker on Saturday was Lori Nordstrom http://www.nordstromphoto.com/ and it was very exciting for me as I have been a fan of hers for years. She also specializes in maternity and newborn photography! Although I have taken a break from photographing weddings listening to Jim Garner http://www.jgarnerphoto.com/ on Sunday was an inspiration, his work is truly exceptional! It was great to get away for one night and network with photographers from all over the province.

I do have some big plans for the future especially in the area of newborns which has become my specialty without me planning it that way.

The studio is VERY busy and this weekend I look forward to taking couple portraits for the 4th year in a row at the Airborne Christmas party. I can't believe the "season" is upon us already.

Jordan

Little Jordon is also one of my newborns from this past spring. I can't believe how fast they grow! He is such a cutey!

Drayden

Meet little Drayden! He looks exactly like his daddy! He really liked having his portrait taken and slept like a baby!

Even though the weather has become a bit colder lately we managed to sneak in a few outdoor shots of Sasha and Anthony before heading into the studio. Just look at the beautiful eyes on these children!!

Well don't these two handsome young men look like they could be a whole lot of fun! This image just makes you smile! I think Luc and Kaleb enjoyed having their portraits taken and I enjoyed taking them!

Look at these BEAUTIFUL children! Getting a shot with nine children looking good is a difficult feat! These kids were so great to work with I think we got one!

Fall Family

I recently visited the Hannah family at their acreage and captured some family portraits with the colours of fall. Their little guy is one of my newborns from this spring. I can't believe how fast they grow. Sometimes the best images are moment you capture that just happen!

Abigayle

Yet another gorgeous baby girl! Abigayle was an absolute sweetheart, she sure had a lot of dark curly hair. Congrats Grant and Amy!

Happy Belated Birthday Connor!

Here is my handsome nephew Connor! As a (late) gift for his 10th birthday I photographed him and his horse. I am kinda glad I was a little late as the fall colours made for a beautiful backdrop!

Great kids!

These children are special to me, I have photographed them MANY times. Moms, Lisa and Tamara have stayed with me through so many changes I have had to make with my business over the years. They are always a joy to work and gorgeous as well.

Denver and Angel

It was so much fun to have an opportunity to photograph some "fur kids". These beautiful dogs are very well loved. It was the perfect evening and the perfect setting for gorgeous portraits. Meet "Angel and Denver".

What I have been up to!

Well time is passing so quickly these days I just realized I haven't made a blog post for a couple of weeks.

I have had some interesting opportunities over the past few weeks. I was hired to take photographs of an oil rig which was quite an adventure involving mud an electric fence and hail! As well, I had the opportunity to follow the Minister of Advanced Education and Technology around a local mill for the mill and the government of Alberta. My images were used for a government press release!

September is probably my busiest month of the year so I will be working and posting a lot of images in the next while, stay tuned!

Bought A New Camera!

Well yesterday I made a quick trip to Edmonton and purchased a new camera! This is the first quick snap I took off of it. Nothing like a new toy to play with!

Little Olivia

Michelle, Gord and sweet Olivia were the second family to visit me in my new studio. I am sure you will agree........ Olivia is absolutely precious!

And Baby Makes 3 !

Jeannine and Daniel returned to my studio with little Kadence. I could see he was a spitting image of his daddy but when we placed Kadence on Daniel's back for this shot Jeannine and I both couldn't believe how much they looked alike! Here is a couple images from the session.

The New Studio!

Well there are still some finishing touches to be made but we have moved into our new studio home!!! September is completely booked and October is starting to book up already so if you were hoping to have a fall session please call ASAP! I am excited for Fall this year (my favorite season) I am sure I can feel a chill in the air already.

Renovations on our house are still in progress, which has been somewhat stressful, but it's coming along. Hopefully we will get our flooring this week and then it's kitchen cabinet time!

Meet Miss Sydney Bree!!

One good thing about having my studio under renovation is that it gave me the opportunity to go to Tracy and Randy's gorgeous log home to take Syndey's newborn portraits. I don't think I have ever seen a more beautifully decorated nursery. Sydney is one lucky little girl.

Update

Sorry I haven't posted much in the last month but progress on the new studio has been SLOW! and we have learned a few expensive lessons about hiring contractors!! It's looking like the studio won't be up and running until at least August 15th. We, of course, will still be able to operate "on-location".

Our house renovations probably won't be complete until the end of September. It's been an adventure for sure. One good thing is we have been away every weekend but one taking the boys to their BMX races all over Alberta and BC.

Within the next few days I will be posting two beautiful newborn babies that I shot on location at their homes.

Tanya Rae Photography is on the move!

Well, we are going to be busy for the next few weeks! My studio and my residence is moving to the country! We bought 160 acres just off Nojack Road, it's about a 15 minute drive from Whitecourt. We will once again be renovating a garage (this one is a little bigger) into a studio. I am excited about the endless opportunities for outdoor portrait set ups as well!! Tanya Rae Photography will be CLOSEDas of June 20th and for the month of JULY while we prepare the new studio. We look forward to seeing all of our clients in our new location!! Baby on the way!

I have had so many new mom's lately, which is exciting cause next month will be full of newborn babies!! Jeannine and Daniel were so much fun to work with! Here is a sneak peek for them!

Graduation 2008

Well I apologize to all that have been waiting for me to post about GRAD! Here it is. This year I got to be the proud mom. Friday evening May 30th was the official Graduation ceremony. I wasn't able to take any photos during the ceremony as it was just too dark. My daughter, Jayelle and her long time friend Katie did the thank you to the parents speech. Jayelle dressed in a Marilyn Munroe style dress with her hair in an "old Hollywood" style, she had a lot of compliments. I wish I could have found more time to get some good images of her in that outfit.

The next day was the Grand March and the Prom. Jayelle opted to cut her hair off instead of getting an "updo". I will let the images speak for themselves. Congrats to all the grads!
